John Godfrey*

John Godfrey began the first two years of his career in law working as a prosecutor with the Ministry of the Attorney General before joining MacIsaac, Clark & Company in their Nanaimo office in 1978. Since 1986, John Godfrey has practiced out of the Victoria office of MacIsaac & Company. A member of the British Columbia Bar and the B.C. Trial Lawyers Association, he services clients throughout British Columbia. John Godfrey’s practice is focused on civil litigation with emphasis in the area of injury claims, and particularly head injury and other serious trauma and death claims.

Michael Phorecky*

Michael Pohorecky is a member of the British Columbia Bar. He belongs to the Canadian Bar Association, Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, and American Trial Lawyers Association. He was on the executive of the Victoria Bar Association for three years. His practice is focused on civil litigation, primarily injury claims. Mr. Pohorecky has helped clients throughout British Columbia and Alberta.

Lorne Sinclair*

Since 1981, Lorne Sinclair has been based in Victoria and Duncan and served clients throughout British Columbia and Alberta. He has focused his law practice on acting for plaintiffs in personal injury claims including brain injury, spinal injury, fractures and chronic pain disorders. Lorne Sinclair is a past governor of the British Columbia Trial Lawyers Association and a frequent instructor with the British Columbia Legal Education and Professional Legal Training program. He is a member of the British Columbia and Alberta Law Society.

John R Jordan*

B.Sc. (Physics)(UBC ’77), LL.B. (UBC ’81)

 

John Jordan carries on a civil litigation practice focusing on personal injury law, estate litigation, condominium law and litigation, and general civil litigation. He is a member of the B.C. Trial Lawyers Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Jordan participates in and financially supports many local charities. He is the executive director of the Salvation Army Pro Bono Legal Clinic, having instituted its creation, and supervises its operation; and is a Director of the Central Vancouver Island Crisis Society. Mr. Jordan is an avid windsurfer, golfer, skier/snowboarder and hockey player. He lives in Nanaimo with his wife and four daughters.

David MacLeod

David MacLeod’s practice focuses on criminal defence, civil litigation and medical malpractice claims and he has assisted clients throughout British Columbia. He is an avid golfer and runner.

Edith Lau

Raised in Victoria, Edith Lau holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with distinction) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Victoria.

After articling with MacIsaac and Company, Edith was admitted to the Bar of British Columbia in 2009. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia.

Edith speaks fluent Cantonese and has worked and studied overseas. She hopes to use her language and cross-cultural skills to assist clients of various backgrounds.

In her spare time, Edith enjoys badminton, volleyball, travelling and spending time with her family.

Donal C. McKay

B.A. (Victoria ’82), LL.B (Victoria ’85)

Prior to joining MacIsaac & Company, Don acquired extensive experience as a trial lawyer practicing personal injury law, insurance defense litigation, general civil litigation and criminal law (defense and prosecution). Don has represented clients in all levels of Court, including the British Columbia Supreme Court, the British Columbia Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. At MacIsaac & Company, Don has focused his practice and will be practicing primarily in the area of personal injury litigation. In his spare time, Don enjoys playing hockey, fishing and boating with his family.

Martin O. Screech

Martin Screech practices in the areas of personal injury law, general civil litigation, family and criminal law. Prior to joining MacIsaac & Company, he practiced law in Nanaimo and Victoria, B.C., in the areas of family, criminal and immigration law.

Paul Pelzer

B.Comm (UBC ’92) LL.B. (UBC ’05)

Paul Pelzer practices in the areas of personal injury, general civil litigation and criminal law. He is a member of the British Columbia Bar and belongs to the Canadian Bar Association. A former volunteer firefighter, Paul Pelzer continues to volunteer in the community as an active member of the Salvation Army Pro Bono Legal Clinic. He enjoys classic cars and snowboarding. Paul Pelzer is a proud single father and lives in Nanaimo with his son.
